Rocket Men: The Daring Odyssey of Apollo 8 and the Astronauts Who Made Man’s First Journey to the Moon by Robert Kurson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Gripping heartfelt narrative. I picked this book for an adult book group to coincide with the Summer Reading Program across the nation, “A Universe of Stories” celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. The book delves into the lives of the three astronauts who traveled to the moon as part of the Apollo 8 mission in 1968, prior to the actual moon landing. Exceptionally well done, I loved it! It is not only factual, but a beautiful story of families and friendship. Highly recommended for someone looking to read nonfiction that tells a story or anyone interested in space exploration.
